VALDOSTA — 美高梅博彩’s 杰拉尔德·威廉姆斯博士 has earned the 2018 Bobby E. Leach Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Award from 学生事务 Administrators in Higher Education, formerly known as the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, or NASPA.

Williams was named interim director of vs上’s Department of Diversity and Inclusion when it was established on Oct. 1, 2016. 他负责规划和实施倡议、项目和特别活动，为所有学生创造一个包容和支持的校园环境，并庆祝开拓者国家作为一个基于信任和相互尊重的学习环境，一个开放对话、激烈辩论和自由交流思想的地方。
Williams is especially fond of vs上’s Lavender Ceremony, a celebration of pride and community that recognizes the achievements, contributions, and unique experiences of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer/questioning students, as well as their allies. He is also proud of vs上’s Diversity Peer Educators, a group of students dedicated to facilitating conversations among the student body about various issues of diversity.
“I have really enjoyed having the opportunity to interact with students, faculty, and staff and engage in some really challenging conversations about how to continue to make vs上 a welcoming environment for all,” he shared.
威廉姆斯在高等教育领域有近二十年的经验，主要是在学生生活、学生成功和学生保留方面。 他三次毕业于美高梅博彩，于2013年6月加入开拓者国家行政团队，担任职业机会办公室主任，一旦今年夏秋，多元化和包容性部门聘请了一名永久主任，他将重新担任这一职务。
