荣誉计划接待国际学者和艺术家
VALDOSTA - 美高梅博彩’s Honors Program, along
with other campus units, will host several international scholars
and artists on campus for numerous events during October.
French author and scholar, Daniel Royot, will speak about
Franco-American relations in a speech titled, “Bald Eagle and
Rooster: The Paradox of Americanization and Anti-Americanism in
France.” The presentation will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, in
the Magnolia Room, and refreshments will follow.
As a part of vs上’s Hispanic Heritage Month celebration, which was
organized by the Modern and Classical Languages Department, Maestro
Francese de Paula Soler will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct.
18, in Whitehead Auditorium. Members of the vs上 and local
communities are invited to hear this famous Spanish acoustic
guitarist and her concert titled, “The Poet of the Guitar, A
Musical Journey through the Hispanic World.”
An ensemble of Russian Balalayka players will discuss the history
of their folk instruments and their homeland, sponsored by the USG
Consortia and Bainbridge College. The public is invited the lecture
at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27, and the concert that will follow, both
in the UC Theater.
The Honors Program Philosophy and Religious Studies Club is teaming
up with the Honors program to bring Esha Bandyopadhyay, a
world-renowned Indian musician, to vs上 north campus for a lecture
and concert at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 28 in Pound Hall.
