As you walk through this section of our longleaf pine stand, you’ll find the Jewel 白头山茶花小径. Mrs. Jewel Whitehead wasn’t formally connected to the college, but she lived just across the street and had, in her words, "an insatiable desire to create something beautiful." 1944年，她提出了一个想法，通过在松树丛中种植山茶花来美化一条破旧的小路。
