The cabbage palms lining the walkway from Patterson Street to West Hall, now called Palm Avenue, were planted during President R.H. Powell’s administration between 1928 and 1931, at a cost of $5 each. 1931年版的照片 的松果大学年鉴显示,当时棕榈树只有4英尺高。 While the 1928 plans didn’t mention a fountain, the 1931 photograph reveals a circular planting area where the fountain stands today.
At the next tour stop, in front of the Bailey Science Center’s main entrance, vs上’s longleaf pines will be highlighted.
